We are focused on creating an inclusive environment where our employees thrive based upon integrity, strong work ethic, a one-team ethos, desire to learn and develop and a commitment to deliver unwavering service excellence to our customers, vendors and partners. Therefore, first and foremost we recruit with our cultural fit in mind.

Job Overview/Purpose

As a Principal Consultant: Data you will be responsible for helping customers maximise value from their data through consultative engagement, solution design and technical delivery. Whilst hands-on technical delivery remains an important aspect of the role, a Principal Consultant is expected to take ownership of shaping customer outcomes and ensuring solutions are aligned to both business objectives and technical best practices.

Acting as a trusted advisor, the Principal Consultant will work closely with customers to understand their challenges, shape requirements, facilitate workshops and translate business needs into pragmatic technical solutions. The role bridges the gap between technical delivery and solution architecture, combining commercial awareness, technical expertise and strong customer engagement skills.

A Principal Consultant will be entrusted to lead complex customer engagements, providing technical leadership from discovery through to implementation, whilst helping identify opportunities for customers to realise additional value from their data investments. The role will work in conjunction with Technical Team Leads, Solution Architects, Project Managers and Commercial teams to ensure successful customer outcomes.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead customer workshops and discovery sessions, turning business challenges into impactful data and AI solutions.
  • Build trusted relationships with stakeholders, acting as a strategic advisor and guiding customers from concept through to delivery.
  • Own the successful delivery of complex data projects, shaping technical approaches and ensuring high-quality outcomes.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to consultants, helping to develop capability across the wider team.
  • Challenge assumptions, manage risks and act as a key escalation point to ensure the right solutions are delivered the right way.
  • Support pre-sales activity, including solution design, customer workshops, estimates, proposals and statements of work.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement by championing best practice across Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Azure and the wider Microsoft data ecosystem.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
