We are seeking a Principal Consultant with strong PMO and Project Controls expertise to help clients shape and deliver complex business transformation.

You will design and improve the operating models, governance, capabilities and delivery controls that connect strategy with measurable outcomes. This is a hands-on consulting role for someone who can work independently, bring structure to ambiguity and guide senior stakeholders through challenging decisions.
The role
- Lead PMO and Project Controls assignments, assessing existing capability, identifying gaps and implementing practical improvements.
- Design and embed strategic PMO / 3PO functions that enable transformation, support decisions and drive business performance.
- Establish effective governance and delivery controls, covering planning, scheduling, costs, risks, issues, dependencies, reporting and assurance.
- Shape transformation operating models, aligning organisational structures, people, capabilities, processes, data and technology.
- Connect strategy with delivery, defining priorities, accountabilities, KPIs and benefits measures.
- Independently lead client workshops, challenge assumptions, explore trade-offs, facilitate decisions and build consensus.
- Apply AI and digital technologies to improve transformation delivery and PMO effectiveness, with appropriate data, security and governance controls.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
