Principal Consultant – Project and Programme Delivery (Data and AI)

Salary: £70,000–£100,000 + industry-leading bonus
Location / Working Model: UK | Hybrid

Our client is a growing specialist consultancy focused on business and technology transformation, helping organisations turn ambitious strategies into measurable outcomes. You’ll join a delivery-led environment where collaboration, accountability and value creation are central to the way client engagements are delivered. With a strong focus on Data and AI, the organisation works across complex transformation programmes and gives experienced consultants genuine responsibility from the outset.

You’ll have the opportunity to work with senior stakeholders, shape delivery approaches and contribute to a high-growth consultancy where your development and progression are actively supported.

The Principal Consultant will lead complex transformation initiatives from discovery and mobilisation through design, delivery, implementation and transition into business-as-usual, combining strong programme leadership with an understanding of modern Data and AI environments.

Role Highlights

  • Lead complex Data and AI transformation programmes from mobilisation through to adoption.
  • Establish governance, delivery structures, roadmaps, plans, controls and meaningful programme metrics.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across business, technology, data, architecture, cloud, engineering and AI.
  • Manage senior stakeholders, providing clear insight into progress, risks, dependencies, decisions and required interventions.
  • Take accountability for delivery performance, creating momentum and resolving blockers across complex programmes.

You Will Need

  • 7+ years’ professional experience, including 3+ years in consulting and 4+ years within Financial Services.
  • Proven delivery experience across Agile, Waterfall and hybrid environments, selecting the right approach for each programme.
  • Strong experience managing integrated plans, dependencies, RAID, resources, governance, milestones and delivery forecasting.
  • Practical understanding of Data and AI, including Generative AI, agentic AI, machine learning and AI-enabled automation.
  • Confident communication and collaborative leadership skills, with the ability to engage from technical specialists through to C-suite stakeholders.
