Role: Principal Consultant - Quality Engineering (QE) transformation initiatives
Location: London, UK
Summary
The Principal Consultant is responsible for leading Quality Engineering (QE) transformation initiatives for enterprise clients by combining consulting expertise, program leadership, automation strategy, and emerging AI capabilities. The role involves partnering with business stakeholders, technology leaders, and delivery teams to design and implement scalable quality engineering solutions that improve software quality, accelerate delivery, reduce operational risk, and enable digital transformation.
Key Responsibilities
Consulting & Transformation
- Advise clients on Quality Engineering transformation, Testing Center of Excellence (TCoE) setup, operating models, governance frameworks, and quality strategies.
- Conduct maturity assessments and define enterprise roadmaps for testing modernization, automation adoption, and AI-enabled quality practices.
- Collaborate with client leadership to align quality initiatives with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Drive process standardization and continuous improvement across large technology portfolios.
Program Leadership & Delivery Governance
- Lead large-scale QA and testing programs across multiple geographies and delivery centers.
- Manage quality planning, risk management, resource forecasting, stakeholder communications, and executive reporting.
- Establish governance mechanisms, quality metrics, KPIs, SLAs, and reporting dashboards to ensure predictable delivery.
- Provide oversight for complex application modernization, cloud migration, merger integration, and digital transformation initiatives.

Quality Engineering & Automation Strategy
- Define enterprise automation strategies spanning functional, API, data, performance, and regression testing.
- Architect reusable automation frameworks using industry-standard tools and technologies.
- Drive continuous testing adoption within Agile and DevOps environments.
- Lead implementation of quality engineering best practices to improve coverage, reduce defects, and shorten release cycles.
- Provide strategic guidance on tool selection, platform modernization, and automation ROI.
AI & Innovation
- Lead adoption of Generative AI and Agentic AI capabilities within quality engineering processes.
- Identify opportunities for AI-based test generation, test data management, defect prediction, root cause analysis, and quality analytics.
- Develop reusable AI accelerators and frameworks to improve productivity and delivery efficiency.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovation initiatives that create measurable business value.
Stakeholder & Client Management
- Serve as a trusted advisor to client executives, engineering leaders, architects, and product owners.
- Conduct executive reviews, steering committee discussions, and transformation workshops.
- Drive alignment between onsite and offshore delivery teams to achieve project objectives.
- Present solution recommendations, business cases, and operational improvement plans to senior stakeholders.
Business Development & Practice Growth
- Support proposal development, solution design, estimations, and RFP responses. Identify transformation opportunities that contribute to account growth and client success.
- Develop consulting assets, accelerators, methodologies, and thought leadership materials.
- Mentor consultants, quality engineering leaders, and program managers across engagements.
