Context
We're looking for a Principal Consultant to grow our Data, Modelling and Analytics Team. Supporting the management and delivery Strategic Modelling projects in UK and Ireland. Becoming a technical expert in the development and application of Strategic Modelling systems including the setting up and running of modelling scenarios and the extraction, processing and presentation of modelling results to clients and stakeholders.

Missions/Main Duties
- Act as a technical lead on small/medium projects
- Execute tasks to quality, time and budget
- Specify information requirements directly to the client
- Identify the information needed to deliver tasks
- Review the accuracy of junior staff's analysis
- Stakeholder, client and cross functional relationship management
- Demonstrate thoroughness and judgement in analysing information and presenting conclusions
- Demonstrate intermediate proficiency in the application of a broad range of methods, techniques and tools
- Take responsibility for defined sections of SYSTRA reports. Ensuring successful project delivery to time, cost, quality and other contractual requirements.
Profile/Skills
- Working with complex datasets
- Transport or mathematical modelling experience
- Experience in Strategic Modelling (Demand/Public Transport)
- Proficiency in at least one of Cube, VISUM, EMME
- Experience in Python and other coding languages, including development using defined best practice
- Computer skills including some of the following:
- AutoCAD design
- Spreadsheets
- Databases
- Programming / coding
- Statistical analysis
- Being a team player and contributing to projects in other sectors as required (Transport Planning, Rail consultancy, development planning etc)
- Working with clients to understand ultimate objectives and desired outcomes for each project

We are particularly interested in candidates who are excited by the future of modelling and can bring fresh thinking to established challenges. Experience in one or more of the following would be highly valued:
- Activity-based model design and implementation.
- Discrete choice modelling or advanced behavioural modelling methods.
- Integration of traditional model structures with emerging mobility data sources.
- Model automation, reproducibility, and modern analytical workflows.
- Innovation in modelling practice, including uncertainty analysis and model transparency.
