Principal Controls Engineer (Training on Mitsubishi)

Are you a Principal Controls Engineer or similar, ideally with experience across control system design, programming and commissioning, looking for a role at a specialist control systems company, where you will be the technical go-to for all control system related issues, at a company who provide specialist control solutions for smoke control, ventilation and general-purpose applications?

Do you want to work in a varied and exciting role where you will get to design, programme and commission control systems across a variety of applications, working with PLCs, HMIs and general-purpose input/output modules, whilst receiving training on Mitsubishi PLC software?

On offer is the chance to become a valued member of a specialist controls team, who provide control systems for a variety of clients and applications, including smoke control in hospitals, prisons and commercial buildings, ventilation systems for commercial buildings, car parks, schools and offices, as well as lighting control and production processes.

In this role you will be responsible for designing, programming and commissioning control systems using PLCs and general-purpose input/output modules, troubleshooting and modifying systems where required, as well as being a core part of the project process from initial design through to final commissioning and customer handover.

This role would suit a Principal Controls Engineer or similar ideally with experience across control system design, programming and commissioning, looking for a senior position at a specialist company providing control solutions for a wide variety of applications, where you will be the technical go-to for customer and internal requirements involving a variety of specialised control systems.

The Role

  • Designing control systems for smoke control, ventilation and general-purpose applications
  • Programming PLC-based control systems and general-purpose input/output modules
  • Commissioning and testing control systems on-site
  • Troubleshooting, modifying and optimising control systems
  • Providing technical support throughout projects from initial design through to customer handover

The Person

  • Principal Controls Engineer or similar with experience across design, programming and commissioning
  • Strong experience with PLC-based control systems (Training for Mitsubishi provided)
  • Experience designing and commissioning control systems
  • Happy with site travel where required
