Principal Cyber Security Engineer

Join a highly visible, senior technical role where you’ll influence security outcomes across the organisation, working flexibly and collaborating with architecture and change teams. This is an opportunity to take real ownership, act as a technical authority, and drive secure-by-design principles while continuing to develop your expertise across modern cyber technologies and platforms.

This role will operate on a hybrid basis with travel to our Leeds & Bradford Head Offices.

About the role

As a Principal Cyber Security Engineer, you will act as a senior technical authority, providing oversight, consultancy and guidance across Information & Cyber Security and the wider organisation.

  • Drive consistent, high-quality security engineering practices, improving capability and alignment across security, threat & vulnerability, and assurance teams
  • Translate complex technical risks into clear, business-aligned decisions, supporting change and transformation initiatives
  • Strengthen organisational resilience through enhanced oversight of critical technologies (including identity platforms) and evolving threat response
  • Provide expert technical leadership and act as an escalation point for complex cyber security challenges across the organisation
  • Ensure security requirements are clearly defined, translated, and embedded into change and transformation activities

About you

You will bring deep technical expertise and a collaborative approach, enabling you to influence senior stakeholders and shape secure outcomes across multiple teams.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
