Principal Data Consultant – Workday Financials | 6-Month Contract
Remote – UK
Start: ASAP
Duration: 6 months
Full-time contract
We’re looking for an experienced Principal Data Consultant – Workday Financials to join a leading Workday practice supporting a major Finance Transformation programme.
The role will focus heavily on Workday Financials data migration, conversion, validation, and optimisation, working closely with clients and project teams throughout the implementation lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Work as a Workday Financials & Data SME across design, configuration, testing, and implementation.
- Lead/support data migration and conversion activities.
- Use Workday tools including iLoad, EIB, Object Transporter, Advanced Load, and Migration Recipe.
- Develop data tracking, reconciliation, and monitoring solutions.
- Map, cleanse, transform, and load financial data into Workday.
- Develop ETL processes and data transformation logic.
- Validate and reconcile Workday data against source/legacy systems.
- Work closely with clients and stakeholders throughout the transition.
- Manage multiple tasks/workstreams and communicate progress, risks, and issues.

Key Requirements
- 2–5 years Workday Financials experience
- Strong financial data experience – GL, transactions & reporting structures
- Hands-on data migration / conversion / loading experience
- Experience with Workday migration tools
- Strong Excel & data manipulation skills
- Workday Prism Analytics / Reporting highly desirable
- SQL or other data querying experience preferred
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
