Job Description
The post holder will be an integral member of a team of specialists within Business Intelligence (BI) and the wider Digital department and play a lead role in implementing the department's BI Strategy.
The role is a highly technical post that will help lead the development and design of Data Warehouse, Data Integration and Business Intelligence (BI) solutions to support the One Lancashire and South Cumbria (LSC) Performance and Information agenda.
The post holder will have an excellent understanding of the main areas of the unit's work, namely Data Warehousing, Integration, Reporting and Business Intelligence and how these fit in with the operations and business of the organisation.
The post holder will possess experience in the design, development and support of modern data engineering solutions across both on-premises and cloud-based environments.
The role will involve the detailed analysis and understanding of complex technical and business requirements across multiple services within and external to the organisation to deliver high quality BI solutions and products and facilitate their delivery as part of the new Electronic Health Record implementation.
The post holder will have an excellent understanding of the role of Digital in the NHS workplace.

- Provide leadership and expertise in the area of BI development throughout a project lifecycle and beyond.
- Coordinate and solicit input from business and application stakeholders to develop informatics solutions.
- Complete detailed specifications and design documents in accordance with project standards and timelines.
- Take a leading role in the development, implementation and maintenance of Data Warehousing and Reporting solutions using modern data engineering solutions.
- Assist in developing, implementing and maintaining solutions using the Intersystems Health Share Health Connect integration engine middleware or other identified solutions.
- Establish BI requirements for the development of new and existing administrative, clinical and reporting systems and solutions.
- Effectively communicate requirements and technical limitations with clients and colleagues.
- Ensure systems designed, developed and managed by the team meet information security and privacy requirements.
- Ensure developments are tested to a high standard before release for business testing.
- Provide third-line support for systems for which the department is responsible.
- Advise and promote the use of systems and work with users to ensure objectives are achieved.
- Keep up to date with new requirements, technologies and developments within NHS informatics.

The Business Intelligence Team are part of the Digital Division.
