Principal Data Engineer - Hybrid

We've partnered with the innovation sector of a large multinational business who are looking for a Principal Data Engineer with experience building products for SaaS companies at large scale. They will lead the hands-on build of data pipelines powering my clients AI, analytics, and automation capabilities.

Day to Day:

  • Build & operate scalable pipelines for structured/unstructured data
  • Drive metadata & data quality for AI-ready, traceable datasets
  • Partner with AI engineers & architects on GenAI use cases
  • Set the technical bar and mentor engineers

Requirements:

  • Proven experience building production-grade data pipelines for AI/analytics
  • Must have built products for SaaS companies, not just internal dashboards
  • Strong background in structured & unstructured data engineering
  • Principal-level technical impact — through delivery and mentorship, not management
  • Nice to have: GenAI/NLP, Databricks/AWS, regulated (GxP) data experience.
