Principal Data & Digital Solutions Lead
Contract | £400 per day | Inside IR35 | South West | Defence
We need a hands-on Data and Digital Solutions Lead who can turn complex engineering or operational problems into practical, working solutions.
The role
- Shape and deliver data and digital solutions from concept through to implementation
- Translate unclear requirements into robust technical designs
- Build solutions using Python, cloud and modern data technologies
- Apply AI, machine learning and automation to operational challenges
- Support digital-twin, data-platform and engineering-application development
- Lead technical delivery and engage confidently with senior stakeholders
- Ensure solutions meet strict defence security and governance requirements

What we need
- Strong data, digital or solution-architecture experience
- Hands-on Python and data engineering capability
- Experience with AI, machine learning, automation or digital twins
- Background in engineering, infrastructure, defence or another complex regulated environment
- Proven ability to take loosely defined problems through to working solutions
- Strong technical leadership and stakeholder-management skills
- Immediately available or on very short notice
- Able to work regularly on-site in the South West
