Investment & M&A Advisory Team Overview

The Investment & M&A Advisory team supports investors, lenders, and energy companies in making confident investment decisions across the energy value chain. Working on acquisitions, divestments, and project financing transactions, we combine deep technical expertise with commercial insight to deliver due diligence services across renewable energy, conventional power, oil & gas, and emerging energy transition technologies.

As investment in energy infrastructure continues to accelerate, the demand for independent technical advice has never been greater. Joining our collaborative and highly respected team will give you the opportunity to work on some of the energy sector's most significant transactions, partnering with leading investors, lenders, financial institutions, and energy companies across both established and emerging technologies.

You will have opportunities to broaden your technical expertise, strengthen your client leadership skills, and contribute to the continued growth of a business at the very heart of the energy transition.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Engagement Manager / Principal Consultant to lead and deliver technical due diligence projects supporting major investment and financing decisions across the energy sector.

Working directly with investors, lenders, and energy companies, you will manage multidisciplinary project teams and provide strategic insights that influence high-value transactions. The role offers exposure to a broad range of technologies and markets, combining your technical expertise, commercial awareness, and project leadership across established infrastructure and emerging energy transition solutions.

What You'll Be Doing

No two projects are the same. You will lead or contribute to technical due diligence engagements, helping clients evaluate assets, identify opportunities and risks, and make informed investment decisions.

Working alongside technical specialists from across DNV's global business, you will:

  • Manage and deliver technical due diligence and advisory projects for investors, lenders, and energy companies
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
  • Analyse technical, operational, environmental, and commercial information to develop clear conclusions and recommendations
  • Present findings and strategic insights to senior client stakeholders through reports, presentations, and workshops
  • Build and maintain client relationships, identifying new opportunities and contributing to proposals, business development, and market engagement activities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
