An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Ecologist to join a highly respected, award-winning environmental consultancy with offices in Edinburgh and The East Midlands. As the business continues to grow, they are looking to appoint a Senior Ecologist to lead ecological delivery, strengthen client relationships and play a key role in developing the ecology team. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse, ecologically complex projects where environmental considerations genuinely shape project outcomes. The successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, influencing project design from planning through to delivery while working alongside experienced landscape professionals and specialist ecological teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of ecological services across a diverse portfolio of projects throughout the UK and Ireland.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients while supporting business growth.
- Prepare high-quality ecological reports, assessments, technical documentation and client advice.
- Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, licensing requirements and industry best practice.
- Provide commercially focused ecological guidance throughout all project stages.
- Work collaboratively with landscape architects and multidisciplinary design teams to deliver integrated environmental solutions.
- Mentor and support junior ecologists, contributing to the continued growth of the ecology team.
- Stay informed of legislative changes and emerging best practice to ensure services remain at the forefront of the industry.
