About the Role
The UK water sector is undergoing a period of extensive investment and transformation. As Egis accelerates its Water Business growth in the UK, the company is establishing a high-performance EICA Engineering team to drive this exciting new phase.
We seek applicants eager to contribute meaningfully to major water and wastewater programmes, working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. Your contribution will ensure technically robust, sustainable, and innovative solutions across the nation’s key projects.
This position offers a unique opportunity to align with Egis’ UK growth trajectory, helping establish, shape, and expand an EICA engineering capability based on global infrastructure expertise and a long-term commitment to the sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead electrical/ EICA discipline design delivery across the full lifecycle of multidisciplinary water/wastewater treatment projects.
- Serve as the discipline technical lead, owning design strategy, technical decisions, interfaces, risks, and quality assurance of deliverables.
- Review and approve all electrical/ EICA deliverables, including:
- Calculations
- Specifications
- Reports
- Models
- Schedules
- Drawings
- Supplier/contractor submissions
- Lead multidisciplinary coordination, harmonising inputs from Process, Mechanical, Civil/Structural, and Construction teams into practical treatment solutions.
- Organise technical workshops, optioneering sessions, value engineering exercises, design reviews, and risk assessments, alongside client/operator engagement.
- Drive lean and digitally enabled delivery through:
- Simulation
- Automation
- Data analysis
- MEP coordination
- Reusable design tools/templates
- Provide technical assurance, advise project managers on technical, programmatic, and resourcing risks, and resolve complex technical challenges.
- Mentor and manage engineers where appropriate, including:
- Recruitment
- Professional development
- Chartership progression
- Contribute to business development, client engagement, and growth of the discipline’s capability.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree (BEng/MEng) or an equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Chartered/EIC Engineer (CEng/MIE) status (or equivalent qualification).
- 8–10+ years’ experience in a relevant discipline, including:
- Substantial water/wastewater treatment, utilities, process, energy or infrastructure design.
- Proven ability to act as discipline or senior technical lead in multidisciplinary projects.
- Strong technical competency in reviewing, approving, and advancing complex design deliverables.
- In-depth understanding of:
- UK water industry standards
- CDM 2015
- Safety-by-design principles
- Regulatory frameworks
- Common project delivery models (e.g. Risk Allocation, Assurance, Collaboration models)
- Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces and resolve complex technical challenges.
- Digital mindset, with experience applying:
- Modelling
- Automation
- Data analysis
- Model-based workflows
- Strong client-facing communication skills, including:
- Leading workshops and technical discussions
- Experience mentoring engineers or supporting technical capability enhancement.
Desirable Skills & Knowledge
- Deep expertise in:
- Wastewater/ water treatment solutions
- Sludge/bioresource management
- Water reuse
- Nutrient removal technologies
- Pumping systems
- Package systems and EICA/ control solutions
- Energy optimisation
- Low-carbon infrastructure
- Direct experience in:
- AMP8, WINEP, SRO, D&B, framework alliances, and contractor-led models.
- Proficiency in:
- Design standard development
- Technical guidance creation
- Calculation tool customisation
- Quality Assurance (QA) processes
- Digital workflow workflows standardisation
- Contribution to:
- Recruitment strategies
- Resource planning
- Bid writing
- Technical proposals
- Client presentations
- New service development
