Summary

You will take technical ownership of complex electrical systems from concept through integration, shaping safe and compliant solutions that genuinely reach service. This role gives you scope to lead, influence architecture and develop engineers while remaining close to hands on design. It suits someone ready to consolidate seniority and extend long term technical impact.

Where you will be working

The role is Dorset-based with a hybrid working pattern. Compressed hours or part‑time arrangements may be considered. The role is a permanent position.

What you will be doing

  • Leading end to end electrical and controls design for complex maritime and autonomous systems, from early concept through detailed design, integration and support into service.
  • Defining electrical architectures, power distribution strategies and control approaches that meet performance, safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Producing, reviewing and approving schematics, wiring diagrams, cable schedules and supporting technical documentation to a high assurance standard.
  • Supporting system integration, commissioning and fault finding activities, remaining hands on where required to resolve complex electrical and controls issues.
  • Working closely with mechanical, software and systems engineers to ensure electrical solutions are coherent and fully aligned at overall system level.
  • Providing technical oversight, mentoring and guidance to engineers, helping to build team capability, consistency and engineering judgement.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
