Principal Electrical Engineer – Building Design Consultancy 📍 Sheffield 💼 Full-Time | Permanent 💰 Competitive Salary + Package
We’re working with a well-established building design consultancy seeking to appoint a Principal Electrical Engineer to their Sheffield office. The business has a strong reputation across the UK and delivers high-quality projects across commercial, residential, healthcare, and education sectors.
About the Role
You’ll lead electrical design work from concept through to completion, collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver innovative, efficient, and compliant solutions. This role offers a strong blend of technical leadership, project ownership, client interaction, and mentoring junior engineers.

What They’re Looking For
- Solid experience in electrical building services design
- Ability to manage projects and coordinate with other disciplines
- Confident producing detailed drawings, specifications, and reports
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, solutions-focused approach
- Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Amtech, Dialux
- Chartered status or working towards it (bonus)
