Job Title: Principal Engineer – Electrical Engineering (Power) x 3

Location: Barrow-in-Furness or Filton (Hybrid)
Duration: 12 months
Rate: £80 - £85 per hour (Inside IR35)

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Working within the Electrical Engineering Power Team on next-generation submarine programmes (such as the UK's next-gen SSN design), your responsibilities include:
    • Developing design solutions meeting time, cost, and quality targets.
    • Producing documentation such as diagrams, technical specifications, and supporting calculations for design reviews. For complete phrasing details regarding design evidence and justifications, you can check the referenced listings.
    • Providing technical support for supplier and customer system acceptance as well as build and defect resolution activities.

Qualifications: BEng (Hons) / MEng or equivalent, alongside Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or the ability to meet CEng requirements.
Experience & Technical Focus: Demonstrable engineering lifecycle experience with a strong foundation in AC/DC power systems, power architectures, generation, distribution, and monitoring.
Specialised Knowledge: Proficiency in areas such as power system modelling, generators, switchgear, protection, or power electronics.
