Principal Energy Consultant - North West UK (Remote)

Are you an experienced energy professional who enjoys turning complex data into practical action? Do you want to work with organizations that are serious about reducing energy consumption, lowering carbon emissions, and achieving their sustainability ambitions?

We're partnering with a highly respected independent consultancy that helps public and private sector organizations improve energy performance, meet regulatory requirements, and develop credible pathways to net zero. With a growing portfolio of clients and projects, they're looking for a Principal Energy Consultant to play a key role in delivering high-impact advisory services.

The Opportunity:

As a Principal Energy Consultant, you'll lead a diverse range of energy and carbon projects, acting as a trusted advisor to clients across multiple sectors. You'll combine technical expertise with strong stakeholder engagement skills to deliver practical solutions that create measurable environmental and commercial value.

From ESOS assessments and carbon reporting to net-zero planning and sustainability strategy, you'll have the opportunity to influence real change while working alongside a collaborative and expert team.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Leading and delivering ESOS assessments for organizations across a range of industries
  • Conducting energy audits covering buildings, transport, and industrial processes
  • Preparing SECR disclosures and carbon reports
  • Calculating Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions using GHG Protocol methodologies
  • Supporting the development of net-zero strategies and carbon reduction plans
  • Advising clients on energy efficiency, regulatory compliance, and sustainability performance
  • Producing insightful reports, presentations, and recommendations for senior stakeholders
  • Building long-term client relationships and acting as a trusted sustainability advisor
  • Supporting business growth through proposals, tenders, and thought leadership

What We're Looking For:

  • Strong experience delivering ESOS assessments
  • Knowledge of SECR and carbon reporting frameworks
  • Experience analyzing energy consumption data and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Advanced analytical and Excel capabilities
  • A passion for sustainability and helping organizations achieve meaningful results
