Director – Energy Consulting: Trading (ETRM/CTRM & Algorithmic Trading)
We’re looking for a Director – Energy Consulting: Trading (ETRM/CTRM & Algorithmic Trading) to join our team in London, United Kingdom in a hybrid working mode.
In this senior client-facing role, you will advise energy and commodity trading organisations on how to scale their trading desks by optimising platforms, processes and systematic trading capabilities. You will combine deep trading domain expertise with business development accountability, owning critical front-to-back systems and algorithmic trading readiness while leading high-impact client relationships across Europe.
Responsibilities
- Lead ETRM/CTRM engagements including platform selection, implementation advisory and system remediation
- Redesign front-to-back business processes from trade capture to settlement, reducing reconciliation breaks and manual workarounds
- Advise on systematic and algorithmic trading readiness, covering execution infrastructure, OMS/EMS integration, and backtesting standards
- Collaborate with client quant, risk, and data teams to translate trading problems into actionable solutions
- Drive business development within the trading segment, including proposals, RFP responses and client pitches
- Build and maintain senior executive relationships across utilities, trading houses and commodity markets to originate new engagements
- Establish and lead a team of consultants delivering on strategic trading initiatives
- Represent EPAM as a trusted advisor within industry forums and thought-leadership spaces

Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in energy and commodity trading or relevant consulting roles (front office, middle office, trading IT)
- Proven expertise with at least one ETRM/CTRM platform (Endur, RightAngle, Allegro, Brady, ZEMA or similar)
- Demonstrated ability to analyse and redesign end-to-end trading processes across capture, confirmation, scheduling, settlement and reporting
- Deep knowledge of at least one commodity market such as Power & Gas, Oil & Refined Products, LNG or Carbon Markets
- Understanding of systematic and algorithmic trading principles, including execution and backtesting governance
- Strong foundation in commodity risk concepts: VaR, mark-to-market and hedging techniques
- Established senior network across trading houses, utilities, IOCs/NOCs or commodity-focused banks
- Proven track record managing revenue targets and pipeline origination at Director level
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including C-level engagement
