Principal Engineer : £950 Inside IR35 : Hybrid London (3x per week) : Banking client

A major UK bank is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead technical delivery on a major transformation project to rebuild the payment system, replacing their existing enterprise solution.

The new product will support a broad range of payment methods and channels across both in-person and digital environments. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role, owning key technical decisions and setting the standard for engineering practice across the team.

Key requirements:

  • Specific domain expertise in payment gateway systems
