Principal Engineer (xVA Platform)
Location: London City
Working Model: Hybrid Working
Contract Duration: Initial 6 Month Contract (Inside IR35)
Compensation: Excellent Daily Rate
We're seeking an experienced Senior / Lead Software Engineer to join a strategic xVA technology team supporting critical pricing, counterparty credit risk and regulatory capital calculations across global derivatives portfolios.
Role Overview:
- 50% hands on coding / 50% managerial

Key Skills & Experience:
- Strong Java development background within enterprise-scale environments
- Expertise in Spring, Hibernate, JPA and REST APIs
- Experience working across both monolithic and microservices architectures
- Advanced SQL and PostgreSQL skills
- Distributed systems design, performance optimisation and scalability
- Technical leadership, architecture design and mentoring responsibilities
- Experience partnering with Front Office, Risk, Finance or Trading stakeholders
- Cloud exposure, ideally Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- CI/CD, automation and platform modernisation experience

Highly Desirable:
- xVA knowledge including CVA, FVA, KVA and MVA
- Regulatory capital and margin frameworks (SA-CVA, BA-CVA, SIMM)
- JMS, TIBCO EMS or event-driven architectures
- Drools rules engine experience
