Principal Product Engineer - Tech4good

London (Angel) | Hybrid (3 days onsite) | £180,000-£220,000

We're working with an ambitious technology business building AI-powered products that are solving complex, real-world challenges at scale that will save lives.

They're looking for a Principal Product Engineer to provide hands-on technical leadership across product engineering, architecture, and delivery. This is a role for someone who still loves building software but can also operate at the highest level, mentoring senior engineers, setting technical direction, and scaling complex products in a fast-paced environment.

Who This Won't Suit

  • Anyone looking for a purely people-management role. This is a hands-on technical leadership position.
  • Engineers who prefer heavily process-driven, corporate environments with lots of bureaucracy.
  • Those uncomfortable with accountability, pace, and high performance expectations.
  • Leaders whose experience is primarily management rather than building and scaling software products.
  • Engineers who aren't interested in leveraging AI and automation as part of modern software development.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
