Role Description

We are seeking a Principal Civil / Structural Engineer to join our growing rail design teams in London and Bristol. You will lead the delivery of complex rail infrastructure projects, including bridge replacement, station and depot schemes, working as part of multidisciplinary teams across the business.

With a strong reputation for delivering some of the UK's most prestigious infrastructure projects, including Washwood Heath Depot for HS2, MetroWest Phase 1b and CP7 Framework projects, we offer the opportunity to work on high-profile rail programmes while also contributing across housing and development, local authority, building structures and education sectors.

Role Accountabilities

  • Lead the delivery of civil and structural engineering design projects.
  • Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Undertake and oversee interdisciplinary design reviews and verification activities.
  • Manage the production and quality assurance of engineering analysis and design deliverables.
  • Coordinate survey requirements and their integration into project delivery.
  • Identify and manage design risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support Project Directors and Project Managers in the successful delivery of projects.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Chartered Engineer status with ICE or IStructE.
  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Significant civil and/or structural design experience on infrastructure projects.
  • Experience leading the delivery of complex engineering projects.
  • Strong experience using industry-standard analysis and design software and applying engineering judgement to technical challenges.
  • Experience managing design risks and undertaking design assurance activities.
  • Rail sector experience, including stations, depots, bridges or other rail infrastructure projects, would be advantageous.
  • CRE experience, or a desire to work towards CRE competency, would be beneficial. Support and mentoring will be provided.
