Principal Engineer - Client Implementations and Integrations
Lead the Team. Shape the Practice. Drive Client Success.
Salary: Up to £130,000 + 7% Pension + 25 Days Holiday
Location: Central London (Hybrid - 2-3 Days Per Week)
Are you an experienced technology leader who enjoys building high-performing teams, influencing strategy, and delivering exceptional outcomes for clients? We're looking for a Principal Engineer - Client Implementations and Integrations to lead and grow a European technical consulting and implementation function supporting enterprise SaaS solutions within the financial services sector.
This is an opportunity to step into a visible leadership position where you'll combine people leadership, technical oversight, client engagement and practice development while working with some of the most respected organisations in financial services.
The Opportunity
As Principal Engineer - Client Implementations and Integrations you'll be responsible for leading a growing team of technical consultants, platform configurators and integration specialists across Europe. You'll own the quality and success of technical delivery, support strategic client engagements and work closely with Product, Engineering and Delivery leaders to continuously improve how services are delivered.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys:
- Building and developing high-performing teams.
- Leading enterprise SaaS implementations and integrations.
- Working directly with senior client stakeholders.
- Influencing delivery methodology and technical standards.
- Balancing strategic leadership with hands-on technical oversight.

What You'll Be Doing
Lead the European Technical Practice
- Manage, mentor and grow a team of technical consultants and integration specialists.
- Drive capability development, recruitment, onboarding and career progression.
- Build a culture of technical excellence, collaboration and continuous improvement.
Own Technical Delivery Excellence
- Oversee the technical delivery of enterprise SaaS implementations.
- Provide guidance on solution architecture, integrations and configuration approaches.
- Ensure quality, consistency and best practice across client programmes.
- Act as the escalation point for complex technical challenges and production issues.
Partner with Clients and Leadership
- Engage with senior client stakeholders and governance forums.
- Support strategic client discussions and technical due diligence activities.
- Contribute to sales opportunities, RFP responses and solution presentations.
- Provide executive-level reporting on technical service delivery and client outcomes.
Influence Product and Platform Strategy
- Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams.
- Shape implementation methodologies and integration best practices.
- Help define future technical capabilities and service offerings.
You'll Bring:
- 10+ years of experience in client-facing technical roles.
- Experience managing technical consulting, implementation or integration teams.
- A strong background in enterprise SaaS delivery.
- Deep understanding of APIs, integrations and enterprise architecture.
- Experience engaging with executive stakeholders and enterprise clients.
- Strong leadership, coaching and stakeholder management skills.
- A hands-on approach and willingness to support teams in solving complex challenges.

Experience within financial services would be highly advantageous, including:
