The Role: Principal: Fabric and Databricks
As a Principal, you will be a senior technology and consulting leader working directly with our Clubs and clients to shape and deliver high-quality Fabric and Databricks solutions. You will work as part of a client-facing team, partnering closely with clients to understand their challenges, shape solutions and deliver measurable business outcomes.
You will bring deep expertise across Microsoft Fabric and Databricks, acting as a trusted advisor to clients and providing technical leadership throughout the engagement. Alongside your client responsibilities, you will help strengthen our Fabric and Databricks capability across AND, sharing knowledge, developing our propositions and supporting the growth of our people.
Key Responsibilities
Work with Clubs and clients
- Work as a senior member of a Club, partnering closely with client teams to understand their business, technology landscape, needs and challenges.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, providing expert guidance and challenging thinking where appropriate.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with clients, developing a deep understanding of their business and becoming a valued partner in their technology journey.
- Bring the best of the Microsoft Fabric and Databricks ecosystem to our clients, demonstrating the art of the possible and connecting technology choices to meaningful business outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary Club teams to ensure we deliver the right outcomes for our clients.

- Lead the exploration and shaping of client problems, turning business challenges into compelling technology solutions.
- Elicit and translate business requirements into robust, scalable and commercially viable Fabric and Databricks solutions.
- Provide technical vision and leadership, ensuring solutions are designed around the best outcomes for the client rather than technology for technology's sake.
- Develop and support business cases that help clients understand the value and investment required.
- Provide senior technical oversight throughout delivery, ensuring solutions remain aligned to the original vision and deliver the expected business value.
- Guide and mentor delivery teams, providing challenge, direction and expertise where required.
Identify opportunities and support growth
- Identify opportunities to create additional value for our clients through the application of Fabric, Databricks and broader data capabilities.
- Work with Club leadership and our commercial teams to shape and develop opportunities from initial client conversations through to successful proposals and delivery.
- Help build and strengthen our client relationships, creating opportunities for AND to become a long-term strategic technology partner.
- Reuse and evolve successful approaches, patterns and solutions across clients to improve how we deliver and create value.
Develop our Fabric and Databricks capability
- Contribute to the continued development of AND's Fabric and Databricks propositions, based on real client needs and market opportunities.
- Maintain strong relationships with Microsoft and Databricks, helping to position AND as a leading consulting and delivery partner.
- Share knowledge and experience from client engagements to strengthen our wider Data capability.
- Develop and contribute to thought leadership, accelerators, patterns and reusable assets that help us deliver better outcomes for clients.
- Support the development of training, learning pathways and technical collateral to grow capability across the business.
Team leadership and development
- Provide senior technical leadership and act as a point of escalation on client engagements, ensuring high standards of delivery and quality.
- Coach and mentor ANDis working on engagements, helping them develop their consulting, technical and client-facing capabilities.
- Work with Club teams to grow capability and create opportunities for people to take on greater responsibility.
- Provide vision, inspiration and motivation through positive, proactive and supportive leadership.
- Act as a role model for the behaviours and standards we expect from senior technology and consulting leaders at AND.

Skills & Experience for the role:
Deep & Broad Technical Expertise:
- Expert-level knowledge, with hands-on proficiency in Microsoft and Databricks and knowledge and expertise in methods and techniques across the data spectrum from warehousing to AI tooling
Strategic Thinking & Vision:
- Able to connect data and technology capabilities to overarching business strategies, develop long-term technology roadmaps, and maintain a "big picture" perspective
Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills:
- Able to dissect complex business and technical problems, analyse root causes, evaluate various solution options, and design innovative, effective solutions
Communication & Presentation Skills:
- Able to articulate complex technical ideas clearly and concisely to diverse audiences—including non-technical executives, business users and deep technical specialists
Leadership & Influence:
- Possess leadership capability, exercised through influence rather than direct authority. Influence and lead technical teams and negotiate technical decisions, persuade stakeholders, and drive change.
Commercial Acumen
- Good commercial awareness and understanding of how to identify opportunities that provide both value to the client and ourselves
Adaptability & Learning:
- Have a commitment to continuous learning, with the ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and client contexts, and comfort operating in ambiguity
