Our Telent Technology Services business delivers mission-critical communications, digital and technology solutions that support some of the UK's most essential organisations. As we continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced, Principal Infrastructure Engineer to join our Rail team in Warwick - Hybrid, a day or two a month in Warwick or other Telent site when required.

What You Will Be Doing

This is an exciting opportunity to work within the infrastructure team as a Principal Infrastructure Engineer within Rail, with innovative technologies, collaborate with talented colleagues and make a real impact on services that help keep the UK running.

You will be producing HLD and LLD’s across the Infrastructure department for Rail projects
Work to GRIP/PACE
Working to Governance and Frameworks
Manage internal infrastructure training for engineers using Infrastructure Lab
Work closely with the Senior Infrastructure Engineer and Engineers in regard to any design changes that have been found in implantation and testing phases
Use Kanban to manage tasks and workflows. Assign tasks to engineers and provide updates to the Engineer Infrastructure - Lead.
Plan, implement and review changes with adherence to the Change Management guidelines. Review maintenance plans, build and procedure documentation.
Establish guidelines and procedures for installation, maintenance, and management of infrastructure.
Providing timescales and estimated levels of effort to complete project tasks.
Planning the commissioning/decommissioning of systems within the datacentre and at the edge.

What You Will Bring

You will have solid IT infrastructure experience, developed technical standards and be able to provide guidance on technical solutions. You will have the opportunity to work on some exciting large-scale projects. Working with the customer engagement during the infrastructure implementation and testing phases, you will manage engineers’ tasks and work on a given project to ensure Implementation and testing phases meet project deadlines.
