Define Technology Strategy. Shape Enterprise Architecture. Drive Transformation at Scale.

We're looking for an experienced and influential Principal Enterprise Architect to join Group IT at Zellis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strategic technology leader who enjoys shaping future-state architecture, influencing investment decisions and helping organisations navigate complex transformation journeys.

As the senior architecture authority across Group IT, you'll own and evolve our enterprise architecture capability, ensuring technology strategy, architecture standards and major investment decisions align with business outcomes and our long-term operating model. Working across Zellis, Moorepay and Benifex, you'll play a pivotal role in enabling growth, simplification and innovation across the organisation.

Reporting to the Director of IT Strategy & Architecture, you'll partner with senior business and technology leaders to provide architectural direction, governance and assurance across key strategic initiatives. You'll help create the roadmap for our future technology landscape while ensuring architecture remains a practical enabler of delivery rather than a barrier to progress.

What you'll be doing

Enterprise Architecture Leadership

  • Own and continuously evolve the Group IT enterprise architecture framework, principles, standards and governance approach.
  • Develop and maintain target-state architecture roadmaps across business capability, applications, data, integration and technology domains.
  • Ensure architecture decisions support business strategy, operational effectiveness and long-term value creation.
  • Establish clear, pragmatic and proportionate governance that enables effective decision-making.

Transformation & Technology Simplification

  • Lead technology rationalisation activities and technical debt governance.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify the technology estate and improve efficiency.
  • Translate architectural challenges into actionable roadmaps and improvement plans.
  • Support platform consolidation, modernisation and large-scale transformation initiatives.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
