Role Context

Responsible to lead delivery of assigned project estimates:

  • Across all AACEi estimate Classes 5 to 1 and project values to <$1bn
  • For Class 3/2 estimates, leads and supervises project estimating team
  • Delivers estimates within budget and schedule
  • Lead and support the estimate through required governance process including presentation to senior management, supported by the Head of Estimating / Senior Principal Estimator

You'll do/carry out

  • Responsible for production of proposal and/or project estimates, ensuring compliance with Company standards and procedures.
  • Co-ordination and supervision of estimating teams during the production of major detailed cost estimates (proposals and projects) with ability to challenge inputs across all disciplines.
  • Preparation of detailed estimating plans prior to execution, including scheduling and assignment of responsibilities.
  • Control of project estimate preparation budgets and maintain workload schedule and manpower requirement records for incorporation into the Estimating Section workload schedule.
  • Ensure that estimate completion dates are met and that work is accurate and well presented in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with the Contracts Department regarding contractual and insurance issues.
  • Identify risk items and measures to mitigate risks
  • Performance of detailed estimate reviews with Estimators and Engineers prior to Management reviews.
  • Preparation of detailed estimate reports and basis of estimate write-ups.
  • Presentation of project/proposal estimates to Management and/or Clients.
  • Preparation of detailed proposal or project close-out reports, in accordance with procedures.
  • Assurance of compliance with all requirements of the companies’ standard formats and procedures.
  • Assist with capturing best practice and benchmarking metrics to improve estimating processes and procedures.

  • Several Years’ experience at Senior or higher level preparing professional pricing or contract tendering.
  • High numerical individual with commercial acumen and experience in across commercial contracting models/risk profiles and project scopes/phases (FEL/EPC/EPCM & Lump Sum/Fixed Price/Target Price/Reimbursable, etc).
  • Experience of successfully engaging with project management, engineering, and capture management. Hands-on mentality.
  • Expert user of a globally recognized estimating tool
