A specialist Flood Risk and Drainage Consultancy is looking to appoint a Principal Consultant to join its growing team in Reading.
This is a senior position for an experienced Flood Risk professional looking to take on greater responsibility across technical delivery, project management, and client relationships.
The Role Will Include
- Leading the delivery of Flood Risk Assessments, drainage strategies, and flood risk appraisals
- Undertaking and reviewing flood risk modelling and technical assessments
- Developing Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) strategies
- Managing projects from inception through to completion, including budgets and programmes
- Providing technical guidance and reviewing the work of junior team members
- Liaising with clients, Local Authorities, the Environment Agency, and other stakeholders
- Developing and maintaining client relationships
- Supporting the continued growth and development of the Flood Risk team

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in flood risk and drainage, with experience delivering projects within a consultancy environment. You will be confident managing projects independently, communicating with clients, and providing technical direction to more junior members of the team.

Experience with TUFLOW, Flood Modeller, InfoDrainage/MicroDrainage, and GIS would be beneficial.
This is a good opportunity for an experienced Senior or Principal Flood Risk Consultant to take on a senior position within a growing consultancy, with a strong balance of technical, project management, and client-facing work.
