Location: Flexible UK Locations

Salary: GBP60,000 - GBP70,000

Join a leading consultancy as a Principal Flood Risk Consultant and play a pivotal role in shaping flood risk management across diverse sectors.

The Opportunity

As a Principal Flood Risk Consultant, you'll collaborate with clients and design teams, leading flood risk management projects in:

  • Aviation
  • Defense
  • Energy
  • Cities and Development
  • Education
  • Rail
  • Water sectors

You'll be part of a Water Management Consultancy practice, where your expertise in hydraulic modelling, hydrology, and GIS will be highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical work in flood risk management, focusing on hydraulic modelling, hydrology, and GIS.
  • Mentor and guide junior staff, ensuring quality assurance for technical deliverables.
  • Develop and test project solutions for flood mitigation.
  • Manage and supervise junior resources, supporting project managers and directors.
  • Engage in business development activities, including tendering and client engagement.

Candidate Requirements

  • Extensive experience in delivering flood risk projects with a focus on hydraulic modelling.
  • Proficient in 1D:2D modelling using InfoWorks ICM, TUFLOW, Flood Modeller, and GIS tools.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in developing and leading technical teams.
  • Excellent decision-making abilities and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
