Principal Forward Deployed Engineer – JetBrains AI-Native Development
About JetBrains Central
At JetBrains, code is our passion. Since founding in 2000, we have aimed to create the strongest, most effective developer tools. Our focus on automation and intelligent workflows delivers efficiency to developers, allowing them to innovate.
We recently introduced JetBrains Central, an agent-driven software development platform that unites tools, agents, and infrastructure. It empowers real-time AI workflows across heterogeneous teams with transparent results, cost, and performance insights.
JetBrains Central delivers three core functionalities:
- Governance and control – Enforces policies, manages identities and access, ensures observability, auditability, and attributing costs to AI agents (some via JetBrains Central Console).
- Agent execution infrastructure – Provides cloud agent runtimes and scalable compute resources, enabling agents to operate reliably across complex development environments.
- Agent optimization and context – Powers shared semantic context across repositories, ensuring agents access the right knowledge and are routed effectively within workflows.
The Professional Services department is assembling a team of Forward Deployed Engineers to drive AI-native development adoption at customer sites and equip JetBrains consulting partners to modernise their clients’ AI-ready development lifecycles.
About the Role
As a Principal Forward Deployed Engineer, you will:
- Partner closely with early-adopter customers to deploy JetBrains Central in high-complexity enterprise environments, accelerating their shift from experimental AI experiments to governed, scalable AI-native development.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to customer engineering teams while mentoring Forward Deployed Engineers across deployment challenges and design best practices.
- Help establish standardised enterprise AI adoption approaches, shaping how organisations operationalise AI-driven workflows effectively.
- Collaborate with global Fortune 500 clients (JetBrains serves 420 of them) to maximise their return on JetBrains investments.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
