Principal Geotechnical Engineer : London

GBP50,000 : GBP65,000 + benefits

An established and growing engineering consultancy is looking for a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join their London team.

This is a senior opportunity for an experienced geotechnical engineer looking to take on greater technical responsibility, lead projects and support the development of junior engineers.

The Role

  • Lead and manage a range of geotechnical projects from investigation through to design and delivery.
  • Provide technical input across foundations, retaining structures, ground improvement and earthworks.
  • Review and interpret ground investigation data and produce technical reports.
  • Undertake and review geotechnical calculations and design work.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors and other design disciplines.
  • Support and mentor junior and graduate engineers.
  • Contribute to bids, fee proposals and business development.
  • Take responsibility for the technical quality and delivery of projects.

About You

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or a related subject.
  • Significant experience working within a geotechnical consultancy.
  • Strong technical knowledge across geotechnical design and ground investigation.
  • Experience managing projects and providing technical leadership.
  • Chartered or working towards Chartered status.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
