Principal Electronics Engineer – Analogue, Digital & RF
Bristol area | Circa £85,000 | On-site
I’m recruiting on behalf of an innovative technology consultancy developing advanced electronic systems for cutting-edge research and product development projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Principal Hardware Engineer to work within talented multidisciplinary teams on intelligent sensing systems, embedded processing platforms, RF technologies, and bespoke instrumentation. You’ll take ownership of complex designs from initial concept through to manufacture, while providing technical leadership and mentoring more junior engineers.

The Role
- Design complex analogue, digital, and RF electronic systems
- Develop high-density PCBs using Altium Designer
- Design high-speed digital and RF circuitry with consideration for EMC, grounding, shielding, and impedance control
- Lead PCB bring-up, testing, debugging, and hardware validation
- Support design reviews, customer meetings, and junior engineer development
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience in analogue, digital, and RF electronics design
- High-density PCB and high-speed digital design experience
- Knowledge of RF PCB layout, EMC, and signal integrity
- Proven experience taking electronic products from concept through to manufacture
- Embedded software bring-up or FPGA development experience would be advantageous
