Job Overview
As a Hardware Performance Specialist you will be accountable for ensuring that the Arm hardware platform is world class and optimised to deliver for Arm. From mobile phones to our High Performance Compute (HPC) environment you will ensure Arm has the best in breed hardware to helping ensure the future of AI is built on Arm. You will ensure a consistent approach to hardware management in a diverse multi supplier environment.
As part of the wider Infrastructure Engineering and Applications team you will work with our infrastructure teams as well as our engineering teams to ensure we deliver the most performant platforms for our engineers to deliver the Arm strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the current hardware cross vendor catalogue and future roadmap for hardware across mobile, laptop, workstation, desktop and server platforms.
- Work with engineering to develop hardware performance testing based on representative engineering workloads.
- Develop and maintain documentation for server systems and processes with offerings aligned to each of the core workloads of Arm.
- Work with the operating system teams to guarantee the hardware estate can support current and future operating system needs across deployment and maintenance.
- Working with our automation team to ensure hardware management aligns with an Infrastructure as Code first philosophy.
- Nurture an Arm on Arm approach where ever possible within the Arm hardware portfolio.
- Act as a domain authority for all hardware platforms within Arm.
- Partnering with our hardware providers to align product roadmaps to ensure Arm has continuity of supply for all of our hardware requirements.
- Delivering an end to end hardware management platform across multiple hardware providers.

Required Skills And Experience
- Demonstrable experience of running hardware benchmarking and optimisation in an enterprise environment and track record of working with hardware partners to develop jointly owned roadmaps.
- Experience in hardware optimisation across both end user and server environments.
- Good knowledge of automation in hardware management and benchmarking.
- Hardware selection across Linux, Windows and Apple operating systems.
- Experience of data centra hardware management tooling across multiple vendors like HPE- OneView, Dell OpenMange and Fujitsu iRMC.
“Nice To Have” Skills And Experience
- Experience of working in an HPC environment!
- Knowledge of containers and how to benchmark with movable workloads.

Salary Range
£126200 - £170800 per year
