Health Economist Manager / Principal Health Economist
The Health Economics Unit is seeking a Health Economist Manager / Principal Health Economist to lead a portfolio of high-profile health economics, outcomes research, and evaluation projects that shape decision-making across the NHS, academia, and industry.
This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of healthcare innovation, leading complex economic evaluations, real-world evidence studies, advanced modelling projects, and service transformation programmes. You will provide technical leadership across a diverse portfolio of work, while remaining actively involved in some of the Unit's most strategically important and high-value projects.
About the Role
- As a senior member of the team, you will play a key role in developing and supporting colleagues, overseeing quality and methodological excellence, building strong client relationships, and contributing to the continued growth and success of the Health Economics Unit.
- You will work with senior leaders, clinicians, commissioners, academics, and industry partners to generate evidence that improves outcomes, reduces inequalities, and supports better use of healthcare resources.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of complex health economics, outcomes research, and evaluation projects that support healthcare decision-making, innovation, and service improvement across the NHS, academia, and industry.
- Combine technical expertise, project leadership, and people management to deliver high-quality, impactful work that informs policy, commissioning, and service transformation decisions.
- Provide expert leadership in health economics, economic modelling, and outcomes research, while remaining actively involved in some of the Unit’s most complex and strategically important projects.
- Work closely with clients, clinicians, commissioners, academics, and industry partners to help define analytical approaches, oversee project delivery, and communicate complex evidence to a wide range of audiences.
- Oversee multiple projects and programmes simultaneously, ensuring delivery to agreed quality, budget, and timescale requirements while maintaining excellent client relationships.
