Frontier is an innovative UK site management organisation dedicated to improving diversity, representation and access in clinical trials. We are establishing a network of high-quality research sites across the UK and are seeking experienced Principal Investigators for our London, Manchester and Birmingham hubs.
This is a unique opportunity to help build something from the ground up. Working alongside Frontier's leadership team, you will influence how our research sites develop, contribute to a culture of excellence and inclusion, and support the delivery of high-quality commercial and investigator-led clinical research.

About the Role
As a Principal Investigator, you will lead the conduct of clinical trials studies in accordance with ICH-GCP, MHRA regulations, study protocols and applicable UK legislation, ensuring studies are conducted to the highest ethical, scientific and regulatory standards. Working closely with Frontier's clinical operations team and Chief Medical Officer, you will ensure the safety, rights and wellbeing of every study participant.
Beyond leading individual studies, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of Frontier's research network, helping shape our culture, clinical standards and long-term vision.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as Principal Investigator for commercial clinical trials.
- Provide medical oversight throughout all stages of clinical studies.
- Ensure participant safety, rights and wellbeing remain the highest priority.
- Assess participant eligibility and obtain informed consent.
- Lead and supervise delegated study staff and research teams.
- Ensure studies are conducted in accordance with:
- ICH Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
- MHRA regulations
- Sponsor protocols
- UK regulatory and ethical requirements
- Review, sign and maintain study documentation.
- Report adverse events and serious adverse events in accordance with protocol and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in site initiation, monitoring and close-out visits.
- Support sponsor audits and regulatory inspections.
- Work collaboratively with Frontier to establish and grow successful clinical research sites.

Essential Requirements
- GMC-registered Medical Doctor with a current licence to practise.
- Previous experience as a Principal Investigator or Sub-Investigator in commercial clinical trials.
- Current Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification.
- Strong understanding of UK clinical research regulations.
- Excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills.
- A commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred clinical research.
Desirable Experience
We would particularly welcome applications from clinicians who:
- Have experience serving diverse communities and understand the importance of improving access to clinical research.
- Have established relationships with local healthcare providers, community organisations or patient groups.
- Have experience in primary care, dermatology, women's health, metabolic disease, respiratory medicine or other outpatient therapeutic areas.
- Have experience across Phase II-IV clinical trials.
- Are enthusiastic about helping to establish and grow new clinical research sites.
