Overview

Expleo is a trusted partner for engineering, quality services, and digital transformation. We collaborate with world-leading aerospace manufacturers, delivering cutting-edge solutions in structural analysis, finite element modelling, numerical simulation, and certification support. At Expleo, we foster innovation, technical excellence, and professional growth, empowering our teams to shape the future of aerospace engineering.

We are seeking Principal MBSE Engineers to support the delivery of next-generation combat air capabilities. This capability will transform the way complex aerospace systems are developed through the adoption of Digital Engineering, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), virtual integration environments, and data-driven engineering practices. As a Principal MBSE Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the development and deployment of model-based approaches that enable collaboration, traceability, and system integration across complex, software-defined combat air systems.

Working across multidisciplinary teams and partner organizations, you will support the creation of connected engineering models that link operational needs, requirements, architecture, verification activities, and assurance evidence within an integrated digital engineering environment. The role will play a key part in enabling Digital Thread implementation, model-based decision-making, and accelerated capability delivery. Concepts such as digital thread, digital twins, integrated modelling, and MBSE-driven traceability are explicitly referenced in internal material.

This role offers an opportunity to influence future combat air capability through the development, integration, and optimization of advanced sensing architectures, supporting delivery across the full engineering lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the client to lead the application of MBSE methodologies across complex aerospace and defence programs.
  • Develop and maintain system architecture models, behavioural models, and engineering frameworks.
  • Establish modelling standards, governance processes, and modelling best practice.
  • Support the development of Digital Engineering strategies and deployment roadmaps.
  • Define modelling approaches that support requirements, architecture, verification, and validation activities.
  • Support Digital Thread implementation across program lifecycle activities.
  • Lead technical reviews and architecture assessments.
  • Work collaboratively with customer, supplier, and partner organizations.
  • Support integration of modelling activities within wider engineering, software, safety, and assurance processes.
  • Mentor and develop MBSE practitioners within project teams.
  • Support business development, capability development, and technical leadership activities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
