As a Principal Mechanical Engineer at Black & White Engineering

Exceptional mechanical design plays a critical role in the performance, efficiency and reliability of modern data centres. As a Principal Mechanical Engineer at Black & White Engineering, you'll lead the development of sophisticated cooling and mechanical infrastructure solutions that support some of the most advanced facilities being built today.

You will act as a technical authority across complex projects, providing assurance, guidance and leadership to project teams while working closely with clients and multidisciplinary stakeholders. This role offers the opportunity to influence key engineering decisions and shape the future direction of mechanical design within the business.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead mechanical design delivery across major projects.
  • Provide technical assurance and engineering reviews.
  • Develop innovative cooling and HVAC solutions.
  • Support clients through technical discussions and decision-making.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to technical development.
  • Drive improvements in engineering standards and delivery practices.

Essential Skills

  • Strong mechanical building services engineering experience.
  • Expertise in cooling, HVAC and critical infrastructure systems.
  • Experience leading complex engineering projects.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership and assurance.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
