Principal Medical Writer
Remote / Hybrid London | Competitive Salary + Excellent Benefits
We are currently partnered with a highly regarded independent healthcare communications agency looking to appoint a Principal Medical Writer as part of its continued growth.

The Opportunity
As Principal Medical Writer, you will play a senior strategic role across a diverse portfolio of pharmaceutical and biotech accounts, overseeing the development of high-quality scientific content while partnering closely with clients and cross-functional internal teams.
This position offers broad exposure across multiple projects and therapy areas, with the opportunity to influence scientific strategy, mentor junior writers, and contribute to the ongoing growth and direction of the medical writing function.

Key Responsibilities Include:
- Leading development of high-quality scientific and medical communications materials across a variety of deliverables
- Providing strategic scientific counsel to both clients and internal stakeholders
- Overseeing multiple accounts and projects simultaneously, ensuring quality, consistency, and scientific accuracy
- Building trusted client relationships and contributing to account growth
- Mentoring and supporting junior writers and wider project teams
- Collaborating closely with client services, creative, and strategy teams on integrated programs
- Supporting business development activities including pitches and scientific input
The Ideal Candidate Will Bring:
- Previous experience working within a medical communications agency environment
- Strong scientific writing expertise across a range of deliverables and therapy areas
- Experience operating at Senior Medical Writer or Principal Medical Writer level
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple complex projects
- Strong client communication and stakeholder management skills
- A collaborative and proactive mindset with interest in mentoring and leadership
- Life sciences degree
