K&K Social Resources & Development GmbH
K&K Social Resources & Development GmbH is an international recruiting agency that has been providing technical resources in the European region since 1993. This position is with one of our clients in the UK which is actively hiring candidates to expand its teams.
Role: Principal – MES Solution Architect (Siemens Opcenter)
Location: London, UK
Employment Type: Fulltime Permanent
Role Overview
As a Principal – MES Solution Architect, you will serve as the technical and architectural authority for large, complex MES initiatives, with a strong focus on Siemens Opcenter (Execution / Discrete / Process / APS) platforms.
You are accountable for defining end-to-end MES solution architecture, ensuring alignment across manufacturing processes, shopfloor systems, system integrations, data flows, and operational KPIs. Success in this position is defined by your ability to translate manufacturing and operational needs into scalable MES architectures, guide delivery teams, and ensure solutions are robust, interoperable, and aligned with enterprise standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Solution Architecture & Design:
- Define end-to-end MES solution architecture for enterprise deployments, with Siemens Opcenter as the primary platform.
- Translate manufacturing process requirements (production, quality, traceability, scheduling) into logical and physical designs.
- Own architecture artifacts including shopfloor system landscapes, ISA-95-aligned workflows, integration patterns, and deployment views.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards, cybersecurity, and non-functional requirements.
- Provide architectural governance across the MES lifecycle (design → deployment → stabilization).

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
