Position: Principal Mining Engineer
Location: United Kingdom
Role Overview
We are seeking a Principal Mining Engineer to join our Mining & Metals team based in the UK office. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the technical delivery of projects, including risk and quality management. The candidate should have experience in mine design and development of technical documents (reports) for key clients throughout various project execution phases (pre-feasibility, feasibility, site assessment, remediation, and decommissioning/closure). The candidate will maintain, build, and further develop client relationships as part of project delivery and business development. The candidate should have experience in managing and executing projects in diverse mining environments.

AMC cover a broad spectrum of services creating a varied and interesting array of projects to work on. Services include technical mining studies (spanning scoping, pre-feasibility and feasibility), life of mine planning, Ore Reserve estimation, due diligence, cost estimation, reporting to JORC, NI 43-101 and similar industry codes.

Salary
The salary package offered for this position will be commensurate with the skills and experience of the successful candidate.
Skills And Competencies
Core functions
- Contribute strong technical expertise across a range of projects, mining methods and environments.
- Provide consulting support and practical engineering solutions.
- Project management of technical studies and assignments as required.
- Contribute to due diligence activities.
- Delivery of high-quality reports, presentations and project documentation.
- Mentor junior engineers and collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams and across regional offices.
- Support company business development initiatives.
- Uphold AMC’s values and standards.

Competencies
- Experience in mine planning, scheduling and reserve estimation.
- Good problem-solving skills, ability to take initiative and to work independently.
- Attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, including report writing.
- Experience with project management.
- Strong client focus with good interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in relevant mining software and general computer software skills.
- Experience in and / or inclination for business development.
Qualifications And Experience
- Possession of a Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Mining Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- A minimum of 15 years of industry experience, including recognised expertise in at least one primary area.
- Demonstrated capacity to work independently, coupled with strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
- A valid drivers license, passport, and the ability to travel internationally as required.
- Fluent in English – spoken and written. Secondary language skills viewed favourably.
- You must have working rights in the country you are employed in.
