Principal Power Systems Engineer

Location: Milton Keynes

Employment Type: full-time/hybrid

Overview Of Role

The Principal Power Systems Engineer is a technical authority and subject-matter expert in Grid Code compliance and Transient Stability analysis. The role involves leading complex power system studies, delivering ETAP-based training, and providing expert customer support across UK and European markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Grid Code compliance and Transient Stability studies
  • Perform load flow, short circuit, dynamic and protection studies
  • Apply UK and European Grid Codes in system studies
  • Develop and validate ETAP models for dynamic analysis
  • Provide advanced customer support and consultancy
  • Deliver ETAP training and technical workshops
  • Support pre-sales, demos and customer engagement
  • Mentor engineers and drive technical excellence

Skills And Experience

  • 7+ years in power system analysis
  • Expert in transient stability and dynamic simulation
  • Strong knowledge of Grid Codes (UK & Europe)
  • Advanced ETAP or similar software experience
  • Experience in training delivery and customer support
  • Strong analytical and communication skills

Education

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Postgraduate preferred
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) preferred
