Are you an experienced power systems engineer with strong expertise in Grid Code compliance, Transient Stability and dynamic simulation?
ETAP is looking for a Principal Power Systems Engineer to join our growing UK and European technical team.

About the Role
As a Principal Power Systems Engineer, you will become a senior technical authority within ETAP, supporting complex power system studies and customers across the UK and Europe.

You will work closely with customers, engineering teams, R&D and sales, helping solve challenging power system problems while also contributing to the development of our technical capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Grid Code compliance and Transient Stability studies
- Perform load flow, short circuit, dynamic and protection studies
- Apply UK and European Grid Codes to complex system studies
- Develop and validate ETAP models for dynamic analysis
- Provide advanced technical consultancy and customer support
- Deliver ETAP training and technical workshops
- Support pre-sales activities, technical demonstrations and customer engagement
- Work with customers on complex power system challenges
- Mentor engineers and contribute to technical excellence across the team
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years’ experience in power system analysis
- Expert knowledge of Transient Stability and dynamic simulation
- Strong understanding of UK and European Grid Codes
- Advanced experience with ETAP or similar power system analysis software
- Strong experience with PSCAD and EMT-type simulation is required
- Experience with customer consultancy, technical support or training
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work with customers and technical teams at a senior level

Education & Professional Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Postgraduate qualification preferred
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) preferred
