We are looking for a dynamic and commercially minded Pricing Analyst to join our Pricing team. This isn't just a numbers role; you will be helping drive our growth strategy. You will have a key role in developing our dynamic pricing for our Travel Insurance, Motor Assistance and Home Assistance products, whilst monitoring the performance and obtaining key insights on the portfolio. Collaborating closely with a dedicated team, you will use your analytical expertise to spot trends, identify opportunities, and implement pricing strategies that drive our success.

What you'll be doing:
- Performance Management: Monitor and manage the pricing performance of our insurance portfolio across direct and PCW channels.
- Strategic Pricing: Develop, test, and implement innovative pricing strategies to drive profitable growth and achieve key business targets.
- Data-Driven Insights: Conduct in-depth analysis of our portfolio, market trends, and competitor activity to provide actionable recommendations.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Act as a key pricing partner to the wider team, to ensure strategic alignment and successful execution.
Your key responsibilities are:
Portfolio Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
- Develop and maintain regular performance reports and dashboards tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) such as new business volume, conversion rates, retention, and loss ratios.
- Analyse performance by channel (Direct vs. PCW) and customer segment to identify areas of underperformance or opportunity.
- Investigate deviations from our plan and present findings and corrective actions to senior management.
Pricing Analysis & Strategy:
- Conduct detailed impact analysis for proposed pricing changes to forecast effects on volume, profit, and customer behaviour.
- Perform competitor analysis to ensure our pricing remains competitive and responsive to market movements.
- Utilise statistical techniques and modelling to refine rating factors and optimise our pricing structure.

Implementation & Testing:
- Prepare and specify pricing changes for implementation.
- Design and execute tests and other experiments to validate new pricing concepts before a full rollout.
- Work closely with relevant teams to ensure pricing adjustments are implemented accurately and on time.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Present complex analytical findings in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Partner with the B2C team to align pricing and promotional campaigns.
- Collaborate with the underwriting team to ensure pricing strategies are consistent with our risk appetite.
What you'll bring:
Technical/ Functional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong Analytical & Numerical Skills: The ability to analyse large, complex datasets to identify trends, draw meaningful conclusions, and solve problems with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong Microsoft 365: Proven proficiency with data manipulation. The ability to build and manage complex spreadsheets.
- Commercial Acumen: A strong understanding of the commercial impact of pricing decisions, with a clear focus on balancing growth and profitability.
- Excellent Communication Skills: The ability to clearly and confidently explain complex analytical concepts and results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including the B2C team and senior management.
- Statistical Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with at least one of the following: Python, or R.
- Knowledge of Pricing Models: Familiarity with statistical modelling techniques used in insurance pricing, such as Generalised Linear Models (GLMs).
- Data Visualisation Tools: Experience building dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI.
Education, Professional Qualifications and Experience
- A degree in a highly numerate discipline such as Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics, Physics, or Computer Science.
- Proven experience working in a pricing or highly analytical role within the general insurance industry.
- Direct experience working with pricing for Direct and/or Price Comparison Website (PCW) channels is highly advantageous.
