The Role and the Team

This is a brand new Principal role, reporting to the Data Director. You'll be a subject matter expert and influential voice on experimentation and product insight, setting the standard for how we test, learn and scale what works. Beyond your own analytical output, you'll serve as a technical and strategic anchor for the Product Data Science team, mentoring colleagues, shaping best practice, and ensuring the quality and impact of data analytics work across the organisation. This role is the natural progression for an experienced and senior professional and is designed to enable the activation of deep specialism, whilst influencing and helping set the strategic direction of the focused areas as a senior contributor.

What You'll Do

  • Own the strategic vision, roadmap and culture for experimentation and test and learn, setting company-wide standards, tooling and governance in partnership with Engineering
  • Lead the design and development of complex, high-impact data products and models that inform product strategy and member experience
  • Own and evolve our product and digital analytical practice, including instrumentation strategy, funnel and engagement work and product KPI frameworks
  • Partner with Product Managers and engineering colleagues to understand member behaviour across our app, web and transactions, and turn it into clear, actionable insight
  • Champion one source of truth by owning the definition of key metrics and supporting consistent methodology across the business
  • Share findings with clarity and conviction with senior audiences, including our executive team, using data storytelling to support better choices
  • Mentor Product Data Scientists, run code and methodology reviews and support new colleagues to settle in and thrive
  • Own experimentation capability-building across Blue Light Card teams, training and enabling non-specialist teams to run rigorous tests independently

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
