About The Company
At VEED, we're a generative AI company building the AI video creation platform made for social. It's where millions of marketers imagine and generate branded videos, in minutes.
We're powered by frontier models and VEED Fabric, our own image-to-video model. Our APIs also run AI video inside leading creative products.
We're a fast-moving team, backed by Sequoia, doing $50M ARR. Come help us make AI videos worth posting.
Where And How We Work
At VEED we are hybrid, enabling teams and individuals to design their day and integrate work and life.
For our London, Amsterdam, and Barcelona-based teammates, we ask that you spend 3 days a week in the office during your first 6 months — it’s the best way to connect, collaborate, and get to know your team. After that, you’ll shift to 1 day a week in the office, with flexibility to choose the day that suits you best.
About The Role
Generative models can already make video that nobody could have made by hand. What they mostly can't do yet is take direction. Someone types a prompt, waits, and gets something close to what they meant. That gap is a design problem, and it's the one we want you to work on.
We're building the next era of VEED: what it looks like when the ability to make a video sits with anyone who has an idea, and not just with people who know how to edit. We don't think that's a faster timeline. We think it's a different kind of tool, and the shape of it isn't settled.
This is the most open-ended design role at VEED. You'll set the direction for how people create with AI here, across new products and surfaces rather than within one existing area, and you'll be the person the company looks to for what good looks like when it ships.
What You'll Do
Direction for our AI experiences
- Set the design vision for how people create with generative AI at VEED, across surfaces rather than within one product area
- Work at the front of the roadmap, defining the bets rather than executing ones already defined
- Turn frontier model capability into something a marketer with no filmmaking background can actually direct
- Build the prototypes and artefacts that make an unbuilt idea concrete enough for the company to argue about and commit to
- Partner with engineering and research to understand what models can and can't do, and how fast that's changing

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
New interaction patterns for generative video
- Define how people express intent, steer a model, and iterate when the output isn't deterministic
- Decide where control belongs with the person and where it belongs with the model
- Design for the parts that are easy to ignore: waiting, cost, failure, safety, and what should happen when a generation comes back wrong
- Establish the patterns that become VEED's system as these surfaces mature, and document them so others can build on them
The quality bar
- Own what good means for design at VEED and hold the line on it
- Review and raise work beyond your own projects, including work you didn't start
- Bring taste to a product category that mostly doesn't have any yet
Levelling up the team
- Coach designers on vision work, prototyping, and craft
- Make design legible to people who don't do it: engineering, research, commercial, and leadership
- Be a reason strong designers want to work here
About You
- Deep product design experience, with a portfolio that shows judgement on ambiguous 0→1 problems and not only finished screens
- A track record of setting design direction for a product or a company, rather than delivering against direction someone else set
- Real fluency with generative models. You've built with them, prototyped with them, and have opinions about where the current interfaces get it wrong
- Strong prototyping ability. You make things real instead of describing them
- Systems thinking. You can define new patterns, explain their consequences, and know when to break your own rules
- Comfort being early and being wrong in public, then changing your mind quickly
- The ability to influence senior stakeholders without authority, and to represent design work confidently to the whole company
- An AI-native working style, using AI tools to increase your own effectiveness and applying that lens to how users work
