Principal Product Manager Opportunity
Are you a commercial, entrepreneurial Senior Product Manager who also understands how a business's books actually work? Who thrives building something from zero, not just growing something that already exists?
We're looking for a Principal Product Manager to lead a strategically important product area from its earliest stages. This is a hands-on, senior role with significant autonomy, working closely with Engineering and Design to shape the product, make difficult calls, and turn ambitious ideas into customer and commercial outcomes.
Join a team building new capabilities for our customers. This is a genuine 0-to-1 opportunity: you'll work with customers, designers, and engineers to understand important problems, explore new possibilities, and build experiences that make complex financial work feel much simpler.
What will you be doing?
- Own a meaningful product area from problem discovery through adoption
- Develop a deep understanding of customers and their underlying needs
- Identify and prioritise the problems worth solving
- Shape product direction with Design and Engineering
- Turn ideas into prototypes and testable experiences quickly
- Work directly with customers throughout discovery and delivery
- Use qualitative and quantitative evidence to guide decisions
- Launch, measure, and improve what you build
- Make thoughtful trade-offs in an ambiguous environment, and change direction when the evidence changes
- Take responsibility for outcomes rather than simply completing a roadmap

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

How you work
You're likely to enjoy this role if you start with the customer, prefer learning through testing over debating hypotheticals, have strong opinions but low ego, and see AI and technology as opportunities to explore rather than constraints to accept.
It would be great if you also have:
- A good understanding of the accounting process and general ledger from the inside, not just in theory. That means either you're a qualified accountant (ACCA, ICAEW, ATT, AAT, or equivalent) with hands-on practice or industry experience, or you're an entrepreneur who has run your own company's books yourself, reconciling the bank, filing VAT returns, keeping the general ledger straight and knows what good bookkeeping actually looks like because you've done it, not delegated it.
