Principal Product Manager

We’re looking for a Principal Product Manager to shape how AI creates real value for our customers and for Spendesk, working across squads rather than inside a single one.

You’ll join the AI & Data Products squad, which builds AI features and agents that make Spendesk smarter, faster, and more reliable. Its ambition is a step-change in leverage for our customers and teams, shipped pragmatically and judged on adoption and outcomes.

This is a senior individual contributor role. You won’t rely on formal authority or direct reports. Instead, you’ll raise the quality of product decisions across multiple areas through strategy, systems thinking, evidence, and influence.

What You'll Do

  • Define durable AI product direction across several product areas, connecting customer problems, company priorities, technical reality, and commercial opportunity.
  • Identify consequential problems that aren’t visible from a single squad, and frame them into focused, evidence-backed bets.
  • Qualify where AI genuinely wins: accelerating work, improving reliability, or creating new intelligence, and be explicit about why AI rather than deterministic automation.
  • Make trade-offs visible across value, adoption, quality, risk, data readiness, capacity, and opportunity cost.
  • Own outcomes end to end: baselines, targets, quality guardrails, launch, adoption, and post-release learning.
  • Bring coherence to a portfolio of agents, AI features, and the shared data foundations behind them.
  • Partner with Engineering, Design, Data, Security, Finance, and go-to-market teams to clarify ownership, decision rights, and dependencies.
  • Multiply other PMs and squads through thought partnership, reusable principles, and clear product narratives that reduce dependency on the AI squad.

What We're Looking For

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

  • Extensive product management experience, including complex products, platforms, or cross-functional product systems, ideally in B2B SaaS or fintech.
  • A track record of shaping strategy beyond a single squad and turning it into sustained customer and business outcomes.
  • Experience with AI, ML, automation, or data products. You don’t need to be an ML engineer, but you should understand model capabilities, limits, evaluation, data dependencies, and operational risk.
  • Strong judgement in ambiguity, with the instinct to separate important problems from attractive distractions.
  • Ability to structure complex systems, workflows, and stakeholder landscapes, then make the key trade-offs simple.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling: you align senior leaders and make complex strategy actionable.
  • Proven influence without authority, and a habit of improving the judgement of people around you.
  • Strong ownership of quality, trust, security, and the consequences of product decisions.
  • Entrepreneurs. We rely on entrepreneurial spirit always as we are still on chapter 1 of our story.
