Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Architecture function for RTP International (VIL), a Mastercard programme that currently enables real-time and bulk payment flows powering 6 economies globally and forms a key part of the Mastercard A2A multi-rail strategy. The successful candidate will become part of a newly formed, high functioning team, dedicated to delivering a robust, secure and resilient service to six international countries every day with transactional volume of 20bn billion/year. That also has a mandate to grow the business globally.


Role

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Be able to confidently articulate the key resiliency features of RTP Products to clients and internal stakeholders to highlight RTP’s credentials in providing critical national infrastructure (CNI) products. This includes topics such as Resiliency and availability testing, Failure Mode Event Analysis and how it is used to showcase the resiliency of our products whether running in data centres or cloud

  • Define approaches and strategies for adoption and modernisation of the key channels for exchanging payment and non-financial messages between financial institutions and the RTP Products. This includes covering trade offs between legacy channels & formats and their interoperability with API based ISO 20022 formats

  • Leverage a deep understanding of functional aspect of the key business services that enable RTP (e.g. payment processing, settlement, liquidity management) and how they impact the underlying technical services (network, application components, infrastructure domains) to support client conversations on future needs

  • Work with client and regional teams from the very beginning of conversation on emerging needs / requirements to confirm the desired outcome but also to start to test potential responses / high level propositions. Follow through these opportunities into fully fledged solution responses that meet the desired client outcome and align with RTP drivers to standardise where possible and limit customer specific architectures

  • Work closely with the Product and Engineering teams with customers in sharing RTP insights, practice and expertise across current live countries and new and prospective customers.

  • Create and maintain a set of customer Long Term Technology and Architecture roadmaps demonstrate absolute alignment with client needs and long-term RTP strategic imperatives.

  • Ensure constant familiarity with broader RTP Global Platform products (IPS Core, BPS 2.0, Directories and Core Framework domains), Mastercard workbench and cloud native strategy

  • Assure and enhance the embeddedness of appropriate Architectural Governance frameworks and associated decision-making forums commensurate with deployments of Critical National Infrastructure in regulated markets globally.

  • Work closely with the RTP INT Operational Excellence function to ensure architectural patterns and deployed solutions are in alignment with all relevant service delivery criteria including audit and control framework obligations

  • Leverage key success metrics to drive overall operational efficiency and customer satisfaction, communicate these on a regular basis (internally and externally)

  • Work closely with Product and Engineering and exploring new growth opportunities across new, future and even current markets – potentially liaising with customers as part of an extended customer engagement approach.


All About You

  • Relevant experience of working in a complex (preferably multi-national) stakeholder environment that includes complex customers and regulators.

  • Ability to articulate themselves clearly and concisely to a broad range of senior and junior stakeholders, acting as a bridge as well as guide for the implementation of new capabilities.

  • Strong influencing skills; organizationally savvy

  • Experience working with regulators.

  • Experience of presenting and communicating at board level

  • Communication - requires effective communication skills – both written and oral - to deal with large diverse customer base (internal and external)

  • Problem solving – excellent analysis and deductive skills.

  • Customer focus – passion for excellence

  • Ethics – strong personal and professional ethics
