Overview
Waters Corporation is currently seeking an individual to join our organization as a Principal Product Owner supporting our Cloud Platform/Ecosystem products within the Lab and Data Management software portfolio. The successful candidate will collaborate as part of a team to deliver foundational platform features which underpin the success of our cloud software products. This role will be in Brasov (Romania) or Wilmslow (U.K.).
In this role you will work very closely with development teams to facilitate translation of the user and business needs, for key areas of our cloud platform, into on market products.
We are looking for a Principal Product Owner who, in addition to working closely with development teams, will collaborate with other product owners, researchers, designers, and stakeholders across the business to solve complex problems with elegant solutions. We want to find someone who will become an advocate for our users and be steadfast in seeking ways to deliver products that exceed their expectations.
Responsibilities
- Perform problem analysis such that the user and product requirements are articulated clearly and understood by the team so that the right product is delivered.
- Execute and lead on key areas of the platform roadmap as set out by the Product Manager / Lead Product Owner.
- Collaborate with developers, architects, UX designers and evaluators to define and refine backlog items, ensuring requirements are well understood, technically feasible, testable, measurable, and sufficiently detailed to support estimation, implementation and validation by the Scrum Team.
- Actively participate in backlog refinement activities, helping the team decompose epics and features into appropriately sized, deliverable backlog items.
- Encourage iterative delivery by helping the team identify feature increments that can be delivered and validated with users.
- Ensure that engineering themes, user experience and technical debt are included and prioritised within the product backlog.
- Participate in regular retrospective reviews with assigned agile development teams to ensure that lessons are learned and appropriate changes are made to adapt and improve, supporting continuous improvement during development.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
